THE SCHOOL YEAR
Tam Tam Mandingue Santa Cruz follows the academic year. Classes begin in early October and last into mid-June. Each level is a year-long course. The school year is divided into quarters, as follows: FALL - October to December; WINTER - January to March; and SPRING - April to June. SUMMER quarter classes typically offer variety from the 9-month, regular year offerings. | ||
| THE LEVELS BEGINNER 1 & 2: For those who have 0 to 2 years of study of djembe. Focuses on the different sounds of the djembe and on building a repertoire of Mandingue rhythms. Students with more experience are welcome, and may find this class helpful. Drop-ins welcome ADVANCED 1: For students who have been regularly practicing and studying djembe for at least 4 years and have some familiarity with soloing. Focuses on more complex rhythms, solo phrases & precision. (Students from the preceding years Intermidiate 2 class.) OPEN or MIXED LEVEL: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced students are welcome at these classes |

Work Your Sound:A one-hour workshop focusing on the sounds of the djembe.
DUNUN WORKSHOPS: Mixed-Level Dunun workshops will be offered occasionally throughout the year, with Doug Kane as co-instructor. TBA |
